Important notice for SSC CGL 2018

SSC CGL Exam 2018 – Here is good news for the candidates who have decided to make his /her career in Government jobs.  The one who has targeted the Staf Selection Commission and will be appearing for SSC CGL Exam 2018 in the next session. SSC CGL Exam 2018 has decided to revised the age limit for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam. As per the revision in the age limit, the Staf Selection Commission has increased the age limit for the posts E & G from 18-27 years to 20-30 years. The Staf Selection Commission has decided to implement this from the SSC CGL 2018 session. This has been informed by Staf Selection Commission through a notification on its official website. According to the new age limit notification, the minimum age limit of the candidates applying for Assistant Section Officer in Ministry of External Affairs (Post E) and in AFHQ (Post G) should be 20 years and the maximum age limit should be 30 years. The  Staf Selection Commission has issued notification for these two posts only.

So for the SSC CGL 2018 Aspirants, we have a big news for you. We, all know, that for the most of the posts in CGL Exam, Age limit is 18 to 27 years, and there are demands by student groups to increase the upper age limit for CGL Exam and here comes the good news SSC had relaxed the upper age limit by 3 years for various posts in the Upcoming SSC CGL Exam. Most of the posts for which the Age limit is increased are Group B posts having Grade Pay of Rs 4200, Rs 4600, and Rs 4800.

This is indeed a welcome step as, with rising in the level of unemployment in the country, there is need of a such a step, that would encourage and give opportunity so that more people can apply for Government Jobs in India. The Notification regarding the increase in Upper age limit is issued the Department of Personnel Training (DOPT), Ministry of Personnel, PG and Pensions. It is expected that these New rules may be implemented for the upcoming SSC CGL 2018 Exam, however, the exact status will be known, only after the announcement of SSC CGL 2018 Notification on the second week of March.

SSC is an organization under the government of India to hire staff for the several posts in various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate groups. The commission works under the central government that conducts recruitment of Group B non-gazette and Group C non-technical vacancies in the country.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria

1. Essential Qualifications as on 1st August 2018:

  • i) Assistant Audit Officer:
    • a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
    • b) Desirable Qualifications for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
  • ii) Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level:

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

  • iii) Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as the compulsory or Elective subject.
  • iv) All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

3.  Nationality/Citizenship:

  • (a) a citizen of India, or
  • (b) a subject of Nepal, or
  • (c) a subject of Bhutan, or
  • (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

4.(A) Age limit will be calculated as on 1st August 2018:

  • (i) For Post for which age limit is 20-27 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1990 & not later than 01.08.1997
  • (ii) For Post for which age limit is 18-27 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1990 & not later than 01.08.1999
  • (iii) For Post for which age limit is 18-25 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1992 & not later than 01.08.1999
  • (iv) For Post for which age limit is 21-27 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1990 & not later than 01.08.1996
  • (v) For Post for which age limit is 20-30 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1987 & not later than 01.08.1997
  • (vi) For Post for which age limit is up to 30 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1987 & not later than 01.08.1999
  • (vii) For Post for which age limit is up to 32 years – Born not earlier than 02.08.1985 & not later than 01.08.1999

Note:  Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate only will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.

  • All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying the application fee, as per extant government orders.
